An international Rohingya remembrance day will take place this Saturday in Carlow College.  Starting at 2pm, the family-friendly event will commemorate members of the Rohingya community who were killed, attached and displaced on 25th August last year in Myanmar.

The free event will also be a day of celebration.  Food and snacks will be served, including Rohingyan cuisine, arts and crafts, face painting, music and dance.  Visual will screen a documentary, while a photographic exhibition will also be on display.

The event will be opened by Anastasia Crickley, chair of the UN Committee for the Elimination or Racial Discrimination.
